Benson, Arizona: The day before, on July 3rd, the city of Benson in Arizona (See the map to locate it from our BVI Hotel in Tucson) is celebrating Independence Day. Festivities start at 9am with the traditional parade with horses and antique tractors. You would be able to assist to a water fight between fire departments or music and a magic show the same morning. The afternoon schedule is still to be announced. At night will be the start the official part of Independence Day with the national anthem and the patriotic reading, just before some spectacular fireworks people could “adopt”. If you want to experience even more traditional celebration of the Independence Day near Tucson in Arizona, you should go to one of the following cities (South of Tucson):
- Tombstone: In addition to the fireworks, there is, among others, a softball tournament organized on Medigovich Field & Allen Street
- Bisbee: Lots of sports events in Bisbee Arizona, such as a home team baseball game or an iron man mile, before the unavoidable fireworks.
- Sierra Vista: The whole week-end of Independence Day will be busy in Sierra Vista Arizona, as there are plans on both July 3rd and July 4th. If there are obviously fireworks on the schedule, you can assist in particular to a young talent show and street dance.
- Tubac: Probably the most old fashioned celebration of Independence Day 2010, with especially competitive games for your kids, and, you know it, fireworks.
